Natural Dye – Tea with Iron Water

On the right hand side, there are 6 samples stapled to the card. 5 samples are stapled in a row and the sixth is stapled below the others. The BFL yarn is a very dark brown that appears black in most lights. The bamboo yarn is a silvery grey. The cotton yarn is a medium grey. The cotton fabric is a medium grey. The linen is a dark grey. The sample beneth the others is the 2nd bath BFL yarn,which is a dark grey brown.

1st bath – BFL Yarn – Bamboo Yarn – Cotton Yarn – Cotton Fabric – Linen Fabric

2nd bath – BFL Yarn

  • 13 tea bags (black tea)
  • 136.2 g fiber
  • +100 g yarn skein
  • 3 tbsp iron water

5/8/2020 –

11:15 am – Heat tea (low medium)

12:30 pm – Add fiber

1:50 pm – Add iron water

2:15 pm – Turn the heat off and let sit.

4:00 pm – Reheat dye bath and add 100 g yarn

5:00 pm – Turn heat off and let sit overnight.

5/9/2020 – Wash and dry.
